Celebrating the Completion of Plank Oakland’s Transformation

We’re proud to highlight the recent renovation of Plank Oakland, one of Jack London Square’s most iconic destinations for dining, drinks, and entertainment. Unveiled on August 14, 2025, this project showcases R3 Builders’ commitment to delivering high-quality construction and enhancing community landmarks through thoughtful craftsmanship and collaboration.

Renovated by R3 Builders, the Plank hub blends entertainment and dining, featuring modern sports screens, sleek bar seating, and a vibrant space designed for social gatherings.

Project Scope

The renovation included significant upgrades such as demolishing the restaurant seating area, bar, lounge, and rental counter, and installing new power and AV infrastructure for state-of-the-art displays. Guests will also notice recessed lighting in the restaurant area, pendant-mount lighting around the bar and rental counters, and updated power connections to serve the redesigned bar. These are just a few of the many improvements that have modernized and re-energized Plank Oakland for its next chapter.

At the heart of the transformation is The Hub — Plank’s dynamic new watch bar and entertainment zone. Featuring a striking 30-foot media wall, The Hub creates the perfect atmosphere for watching the big game, enjoying happy hour, or relaxing with friends.

This project would not have been possible without the outstanding collaboration of our design and contractor partners. From the architectural vision of Design Development Group to the site and engineering expertise of Emminger Engineering and the electrical and AV integration by Dougherty Electric, their combined efforts were essential in bringing Plank’s renovation to life.
