This year marks a major milestone for R3 Builders, 25 years in business. What began as a vision has grown into a trusted construction partner known for quality, integrity, and lasting relationships across California.
To celebrate, we’re dedicating the entire month of May to reflecting on the journey. We will be sharing projects from the past 25 years across our social media channels. From early builds to recent large-scale projects, it’s a look at how far we’ve come and the relationships that made it possible.
Where It All Started
R3 Builders was founded by Rick Dade in May 2001, but his story in construction started long before that. Growing up around his father’s building business, Rick developed an early appreciation for the craft, learning firsthand what it means to build something the right way. He officially stepped into the industry in 1994, working his way up from the field to project management and into operations, gaining a well-rounded understanding of every phase of construction.
When he launched R3 Builders, it wasn’t just about starting a company, it was about creating a different kind of experience for clients. He wanted to build lasting relationships rooted in trust, accountability, and hands-on service.
One job at a time, R3 Builders earned a reputation for quality, clear communication, and follow-through. Those foundational years weren’t just about growth, they were about establishing a reputation. One project at a time, R3 builders has earned the confidence of clients by delivering consistent results, strong communication, and dependable craftsmanship.

One of the most meaningful reflections of R3’s culture is the longevity of its team. Several members have been with the company for 15, even 20+ years. Equally telling is the number of team members who have left and later returned. That kind of loyalty speaks volumes about the environment, the leadership, and the shared commitment to doing great work together.
