Rick Dade (Founder & President)The construction industry is practically a part of Rick Dade’s DNA; he grew up watching jobs sites come to life as his father ran a successful construction company, and quickly became familiar with the varying roles and responsibilities that building projects require. Rick joined his father’s company in 1994 working in the field; he eventually moved to the office as a project manager, and later moved into operations and finance. In 2001, he founded R3 Builders in the Bay Area to focus on retail, grocery and restaurant projects. Rick created a cabinetry shop in 2003 to create premium quality custom millwork. Today, the company’s annual revenues exceed $8 million, and Rick is committed to growing the company slowly and steadily, with a focus on creating buildings of distinction. Having worked in so many aspects of the industry, Rick now makes it a priority to foster an environment where employees want to come to work. “Having been involved in construction my whole life, I know that it can take a lot out of you,” Rick says. “I encourage my team to take time for themselves and their families, and strive to support them to the best of my ability.” Rick lives in San Francisco with his family. R3 Builders is a member of The Golden Gate Restaurant Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers. |

Barry Nash (Vice President of Operations)Experienced. Focused. Dedicated. Those three words sum up Barry Nash, one of the critical members of the R3 management team. Barry Nash began his construction career in the late 1970’s; by the mid-80’s, he was working as a licensed contractor in the restaurant and commercial retail sector. Over the next decade, he was instrumental in completing a number of large-scale projects throughout the Western United States, with clients as diverse as Toys ‘R Us, Olive Garden and Red Lobster, and also ran his own custom cabinetry shop. His experience has been a tremendous asset to R3 Builders as it has built its own custom shop to create millwork and cabinetry. At the start of each building project, Barry works closely with the client, helping to create a budget and develop a plan that can be used to secure financing, and communicating with the entire project team to ensure that everyone is on the same page. After the design phase is complete, Barry oversees a network of supervisors, project managers and vendors as they work through each stage of a project. “I believe in building close relationships,” says Barry. “I stay in close contact with everyone and keep the lines of communication open.” |

Jessica Monigan (Office Manager)If you work with R3 Builders on any kind of a project – large or small – you’ll definitely meet Jessica Monigan at some point during the process. Jessica plays a vital role at R3 Builders, managing the office and overseeing contracts, verifying change orders, staying in contact with supervisors and vendors, and a hundred other tasks that keep her on her toes. Jessica feels perfectly at home in the construction business; while she was growing up, her family owned and manufactured custom tiles, and many of her extended family members are involved in the construction industry in one way or another. Prior to joining R3 Builders, Jessica worked with two large construction companies, the first located in Petaluma, and the second in Chico, CA. Jessica joined R3 in 2001, and thrives on the fast-paced energy of the company. “I’m excited to come to work every day,” she says. “The job is never boring, and I’m constantly learning new things.” |
